The UNCITRAL collection of CISG case data

The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) has established a system for collecting and disseminating information on court decisions and arbitral awards relating to the CISG. The acronym for the system is CLOUT (Case law on UNCITRAL texts). The system relies on a network of national correspondents. The national correspondents collect court decisions and arbitral awards and prepare abstracts of them in one of the official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, Spanish). The abstracts are to be translated by UNCITRAL into the other five United Nations languages and published in all six languages as part of the regular documentation of UNCITRAL.

With the permission of UNCITRAL, Pace reproduces in this database the English texts of CLOUT abstracts of CISG cases. UNCITRAL should be contacted for texts of these abstracts in other languages. For further data on UNCITRAL's CLOUT abstract system, see:

In addition to publishing abstracts, UNCITRAL stores the full texts of decisions and awards sent to them by national correspondents. Copies of these case texts may be obtained from:

The index is designed to list cases under the provisions of the CISG and the sub-issues with which each case deals.
